The Cinema workshops on Sun 3/15 (“Sac de billes / Bag of Marbles”) and Sun 3/25 (“Les Choristes / The Chorus”) are being postponed to later dates. 

Those who have registered will be informed of the dates when they are set.

Join French teacher, Christine Lacourse, for a series of French films spanning 3 Sundays during Francophonie month.  The films will all be in French with English subtitles, but the discussion will take place in English.  Movies being shown are:

Sun 3/1: La Tête en friche (My Afternoons with Margueritte) – 2011, starring Gisèle Casadesus and Gérard Depardieu, Jean Becker, director

A semi-literate and lonely odd-job man bonds with a much older and well-read woman.

Pierre is an aimless child at an austere boarding school in France. The students and faculty are constantly at odds with one another, until a music teacher, Clément Mathieu, arrives and starts a choir. Clément — who has troubles of his own — tries to change the reactionary policies of the school, choosing instead to encourage his students. His efforts have a particular impact on Pierre, who shows great musical promise.
