Author D. Peter MacLeod will join the Institute to discuss his book, Northern Armageddon: The Battle of the Plains of Abraham and the Making of the American Revolution, as part of the Institute’s Bookmark Series.

Northern Armageddon focuses on the Battle of the Plains of Abraham through the eyes of dozens of participants. MacLeod also traces the battle’s impact on Canada, the United States, both countries’ Aboriginals and the world, from 1759 into the twenty-first century.

D. Peter MacLeod is Director of Research at the Canadian War Museum, where he curated the museum’s permanent colonial gallery and temporary exhibitions on the Seven Years’ War, American Revolution, and War of 1812. He is also a co-curator and the English Language Text Editor for the Canadian History Hall at the Canadian Museum of History. A longstanding student of colonial North American military history, he is the author of The Canadian Iroquois and the Seven Years’ War, Four Wars of 1812, Northern Armageddon: The Battle of the Plains of Abraham and the Making of the American Revolution, and Backs to the Wall: The Battle of Sainte-Foy and the Conquest of Canada.
