This evening will celebrate the efforts to keep French alive and vibrant in New England and Louisiana. The Franco-American Centre joins with the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) – New Hampshire Chapter and the Euclide Gilbert French Language Foundation to celebrate excellent work by students, teachers and the community.
First, awards will be given out for the winners of the Euclide Gilbert French Language Foundation’s Concours Vidéo de langue française. The top 3 submissions from both high school and college level will be shown to the public.
This year’s challenge was the following:
“How can the study of French enrich your life? In a 1-2 minute video using at least 3 examples, explain what learning French brings to your life. Persuade the viewer that learning French has enriched your life in new ways.”
Secondly, The short documentary “Le Choix de Théo” (Theo’s Choice) will be shown. This 2017 documentary explores the challenges with preserving a language and cultural identity in Louisiana. See the trailer here:
