As the leaves turns to shades of orange, gold and red and the air becomes brisk, thoughts start to turn to the various upcoming holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas are always a great time in the kitchen. We bake and cook for days and weeks. We dust off the old family recipes and, sometimes, look for a new twist on old favorites.
It’s also that time of the year when an age-old debate resurfaces: Tourtière (pork pie), with or without potatoes.
For every Franco with ties to Canada/ Quebec, there is a tourtière recipe that differs from another. Some are made with cubed meat, others ground. Some have vegetables (besides potatoes) and others a simply a meat pie.
Join us for this last Franco Food recipe swap for 2020 to discuss all foods for the holidays, savory and sweet!
Look forward to hearing the stories and the multiple versions of family favorites.
This Franco Foods get together is for anyone who loves to talk about food, swap recipes, share stories about the holiday foods we love.
This conversation will be in English with some French.

“The thing I can’t resist is a pork pie. That’s my idea of a lovely treat.” ~ Delia Smith, cookbook author.
