Pierre Anctil is a full professor in the Department of History at the University of Ottawa, where he teaches contemporary Canadian history and Canadian Jewish history. Among his appointments, he was the director of the Institute of Canadian Studies at the University of Ottawa and was the president of the Conseil des relations interculturelles of the Government of Québec. Author of numerous books, he has addressed the history of the Jewish community of Montréal and current debates on cultural pluralism in Montréal. Representative publications include his monograph Trajectoires juives au Québec (Presses de l’Université Laval, 2010) and the book Les communautés juives de Montréal, histoire et enjeux contemporains (Septentrion, 2010) in collaboration with Ira Robinson.
