Food, Fun and Music!

Thank you to all who attended our first traditional sugaring off.  What an amazing time!  The weather was truly on our side.  It started with a  great presentation by Andrew Chisholm of Chisholm Farm who went over the tapping of the tree and how the maple water turns into the delicious golden syrup.  Followed by samples of their delicious syrup and maple spread!

The venue at the Oscar Barn was the perfect setting for the meal.  Their chef prepared a traditional meal that was throughly enjoyed by a full house of hungry revelers, including cretons imported from Montreal!

Making a special appearance at the event was the famous French poisson d’avril!   A fun April 1st tradition in Quebec, France and other French speaking regions.  (Click here to learn more)

As is the tradition at the cabanes à sucre in Quebec, we worked off the sweet meal by dancing the evening away!  The Reel McCoys did not dissapoint.  Their music had us dancing and laughing to French and Celtic beats.

A special thank you to the NH State Council on the Arts and the National Endownment for the Arts whose grant helped make this event possible and to all of you for spending the evening with us.

À l’année prochaine!

See you next year!
